AWE looks forward to welcoming you to our sites.
As AWE is a nuclear licensed site, there are a number of security requirements that visitors will need to observe. We have therefore produced this leaflet to provide you with the information you need to help you prepare for your visit.
To gain access to AWE sites, we require some personal details for security purposes.
You will be asked by your host to provide this information before your visit. The details will be entered into our visitor system to enable us to easily identify you upon your arrival.
To ensure that your access to the site is as swift as possible, please plan to arrive 30 minutes before your appointment/meeting time to ensure that all safety and security measures are complete.
Please ensure that you have contact telephone numbers for your host as this will ensure that we can contact them as soon as you are ready to enter site.
You will be asked to provide proof of identity upon arrival. PASSPORT or PHOTOCARD driving licence are both acceptable. No other forms of photographic identity will be accepted.
Please bring proof of identity with you even if you are an existing pass holder. The safety and security of our visitors is important to us. As part of security procedures, all new visitors to AWE will be required to watch our safety briefing. You may also be requested to have your vehicle or bags searched by our resident security officers.
We are unable to allow mobile telephones, laptops, USB sticks or camera/video recording devices into our sites, and therefore request that you make appropriate arrangements for these items prior to your visit. Alternatively they can be left in your car or at reception if required. It is essential that during your visit, briefcases and handbags are labelled with a suitable baggage tag. Our reception team will be able to provide one for your use.
We look forward to your visit.
