Finance and Project Controls apprenticeship

As a Finance and Project Controls apprentice you will spend two years rotating around and working within various teams and disciplines within the Finance and Business Management (F&BM) Function.

During this two year period you will develop competencies within all aspects of Finance and Project Controls.  You will complete various set tasks and deliverables that may include both practical and written assessments.

The placements and training will be designed to assist in the development of a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Finance and Project Controls as utilised at AWE.

During the 2 year apprenticeship journey, you will learn the following skills:

  • Key controls
  • Financial modelling and scenario analysis
  • Data reporting and analysis
  • Project planning
  • Project cost engineering
  • Project estimating
  • Commercial services
  • Long range planning (LRP)
  • Supply chain management
  • Earned value management (EVM)
  • Business case development
  • Financial accounting
  • Commercial
  • Financial planning and analysis
  • Reporting
  • Planning
  • Project and functional controls
  • Cost engineering/cost analysis
  • Estimating
  • Programme and project controls compliance/governance

During your apprenticeship, you will work towards nationally recognised qualifications.

Sponsorship towards an appropriate degree qualification or achievement of chartered status will also be considered.

Entry requirements

3 A Levels at C and above, one must be in Maths.
