Project Controls apprenticeship

As a Project Controls apprentice at AWE you will spend three years rotating around and working within a variety of different teams and disciplines within our Finance and Business Management
(F&BM) Function.

During this three year period you will develop competencies within all aspects of Project Controls.  You will complete various set tasks and deliverables that may include both practical and written assessments. The placements and training will be designed to assist in the development of a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Project Controls as utilised at AWE.

During the 3 year apprenticeship journey, you will learn the following skills:

  • Project cost engineering/cost analysis
  • Project planning
  • Estimating
  • Earned value management (EVM)
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Project and functional controls
  • Programme controls Compliance/Governance
  • Key controls

During your apprenticeship, you will work towards nationally recognised qualifications. Further sponsorship towards full achievement of chartered status will also be made available.

Entry Requirements:

  • Preferably GCSE in Math and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)

  • A good level of Maths and English
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Good communication skills
  • A positive attitude
  • The ability to work with all kinds of people
  • An awareness of health and safety
  • 3 A Levels - preferably with a numerical or technical bias.
