Industrial opportunities

The manufacturing teams that work at the front line of our business play a key role in delivering the warhead and supporting our national nuclear security.

From safety monitoring to engineering procedures, waste management to inventory control, science labs to explosive handling, the programme of work covers a lot of ground, every bit of it vital to our operations. But more than that, a role in one of these areas will give you the skills you need to build a long and varied career with us.

In your first two weeks you'll complete a compulsory training course. As well as giving you the chance to settle in and meet other people from the team, it’s designed to give you a better understanding of our business with a particular focus on safety and technical training.

You will get plenty of support from your line manager and colleagues – in fact their expertise will prove to be invaluable. On top of the specialist skills you’ll develop, the core abilities you’ll gain will open the door to an array of career opportunities across our business.

To find out more about how we support your development at AWE, visit you and your career section.

Engineering or manufacturing experience is not essential however it would be an advantage. Our first class training will teach you everything you need to know.

More important is that you bring attention to detail, basic IT skills, plenty of enthusiasm and the willingness to make the most of all the opportunities we have to offer.
