You could be part of a unique team supporting the defence and security of the United Kingdom – something AWE has done with pride for more than 60 years. Working with us is exciting and challenging – in fact it’s everything you would expect from a company that supports national security.
Jobs are varied and diverse – from technical roles in engineering, science, manufacturing and industrial work to business roles in areas such as administration, commercial, human resources and facilities management. We have a graduate programme, or you may be interested in our award-winning Skills Academy offering a range of apprenticeships.
And just as diverse as the jobs and people, is the range of buildings and facilities here – from the original control tower when Aldermaston was a military airfield to state-of-the-art world class research and technology facilities.
Because what we do is of great national importance, our approach is highly regulated and we operate to the highest level of security, both in terms of how our sites operate and the people who work with us. Here are a few practical things to know before joining us:
The safety and security of everyone is paramount. Each site has a highly experienced team of security officers and Ministry of Defence Police. Their job in frontline security is to protect you and the sites everyone works on. It’s everyone’s responsibility to support them in their role.
We are always looking for high calibre people to join our team, so why not explore the opportunities we currently have on offer. Whatever stage of your career, AWE is an exciting and excellent environment to develop your skills and achieve your aspirations.
"If you’ve got what it takes to keep our world safe and secure, then AWE could be the right place for you."
"AWE promotes diversity in employment. Because of the nature of work associated with these posts, they are subject to special nationality rules and are open only to British nationals. All selected candidates will be required to undergo security clearance."
